What Happened In Episode 4: Recap
“Snake” is the name of the episode. Snake first apologises to Thorfinn for his injuries. He suddenly grabs his sword and lunges at Thorfinn. Upon seeing Askeladd dressed as a snake, Thorfinn responds without delay and deflects the blow. Snake also claims that Thorfinn’s body desires to survive. He therefore responded so rapidly to protect himself.
Thorfinn contemplates both his desire to live and his goals in life at the same time. While attending to his injuries, Pater informs Einar that he was once a slave and has since paid for his release. Pater apologises to them both for failing to defend them. Additionally, he claims that Arnheid saved them because she was the one who told him about the couple.
Thorfinn and Einar go back to the forest to finish their work. When Thorfinn is questioned about his past, he admits that he served in the Danish army during the raid on England. Therefore, Thorfinn is similar to the individuals who assaulted his community and killed his family, as Einar understands.
Later in the evening, Einar makes an attempt to choke Thorfinn. He begins to choke and gulp for air. However, Thorfinn is only dreaming and is enmeshed in a war-related nightmare. While Thorfinn awakens from his dream, unable to understand, Einar releases his hold.
