Twitter's “Edit Tweet” button arriving later this month, but not for All

Important details:

  • Twitter started testing the Edit Tweet feature in one nation.
  •  In the upcoming weeks, the feature will be made available to Twitter Blue users.
  • Users will have 30 minutes to edit the post as many times as they like.

The new Edit Tweet feature has finally begun to be tested on the microblogging website Twitter. In the upcoming weeks, the company will roll out the eagerly anticipated edit button to a select group of Twitter Blue subscribers.

The most frequently asked-for feature enables users to edit tweets for up to 30 minutes after they are published. An indication that the tweet has been edited will be present in the edited post. According to the company, users will also be able to view the initial tweet and any updates.

Coming very soon: a Twitter editing button.

The feature is currently being tested, as stated. The company launches the feature in one country at first, then expands it based on user feedback. The undo button on Twitter Blue, which already lets users stop a tweet from going out for up to 30 seconds after pressing the send button, will soon let users change a tweet.

In a blog post, Twitter stated:

“With Edit Tweet now available, we hope that Twitter will seem more approachable and less stressful. We’ll keep working to find ways to make it feel natural for you to participate in the conversation in a way that makes sense to you.

Users of Twitter Blue will get access to the Edit Tweet feature.

Over the next few weeks, the Edit Tweet feature will only be available to Twitter Blue users. A subscription service called Twitter Blue offers more functionality than the free version. At the moment, it is only available in the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

According to Twitter, edited tweets will be clearly identified by an icon, a timestamp, and a label. Users can view the tweet’s edit history, which includes previous revisions and the original message, by tapping the label.

How to use the Twitter edit button

After a tweet is initially posted, users have 30 minutes to make as many edits as they’d like. This new function was first teased by Twitter in April.

Twitter has yet to make any intentions public about the introduction of the subscription service in India. Indian users must therefore wait a long time to use this feature.
