Halo Infinite – Co-op campaign will not have matchmaking; recommend using Discord

Players must use external means to play the online mode with other people.

Halo Infinite is one of the most turbulent releases in recent months. Yes, it is a very good quality game thanks to its polished gameplay, but it is undeniable that it debuted with the absence of some options that are the flagship for the franchise: from the cooperative campaign to the Forge mode. Although 343 Industries works on these and other features, the controversy persists.

As we told you, the Beta of the cooperative campaign began in early July and remains active at the time of writing these lines. This means that members of the franchise’s insider program can now explore the narrative adventure in the company of other players.

However, this trial period was not without controversy. The thing is that players experienced numerous problems in the online mode, which caused the developers to apologize. Unfortunately, the problems continue and there was recently confirmed the news that will disappoint a section of the community.

This week, an Xbox spokesperson told GamesRadar+ that there are currently no plans to implement a matchmaking system for the final version of Halo Infinite‘s co-op campaign.

Now, how to play with other people if there is no matchmaking system? In his statement, the company spokesperson recommended users use alternative means such as Halo LFG and Discord’s new voice chat feature in Xbox ecosystems to find and play with other gamers.

Without a doubt, this is overwhelming news. While it’s likely that many players who plan to play the campaign online will likely have a friend or family member accompanying them on their journey, it’s undeniable that others will not. Limiting options and forcing users to use external tools is a questionable decision to say the least.

We remind you that the cooperative campaign will arrive at the end of 2022, while its Beta period will end until August 1. Hopefully, the developers will reconsider their decision and provide more options to make it easier for fans without acquaintances or gamer friends to play with other people.

But tell us, what do you think of this situation? Do you think it’s a good decision? Let us read you in the comments.

Halo Infinite is available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
